TUSCANY IN 15 DAYS, ITALY
DISCOVERING TUSCANY
This amazing Italian region is one of the best options when it comes to road trips. I ensure you'll see astonishing landscapes, taste some of the best wines in the world and travel back to the Medieval age thanks to Florence, Siena, Lucca or Volterra. Check this 15 days route and feel free to leave suggestions.
The best way to do this trip is by car. So a good way to have a car is renting one! You can find lots of car rental establishments at the Florence Airport.
This is the route I recommend you to follow:
DAY 1:
Landing in Florence. The capital of this region shines for its Renaissence essence and historical past. Check out my FLORENCE POST to know what to do in this city.
DAY 2:
Second day at Florence.
DAY 3:
Last day in Florence.
DAY 4:
Moving on with Lucca. This city has an intact Renaissence wall. You can walk through its streets, visit the cathedral or else.
DAY 5:
Pisa is the next stop. It is a quick stop because apart from the place where the tower is, it has nothing. Don't even have lunch there because it's really stressful and chaotic. The only thing that deserves your attention is the cathedral, especially indoors.
DAY 6:
Arriving at Volterra. I suggest you to go on a Sunday when there is a Medieval festival that gives this city a special atmosphere.
DAY 7:
Then, we continue with San Gimignano. This is one of the best towns you'll visit. It may seem a bit touristic but I'm sure you'll love it. You can find the best Ice Cream Shop in the world. Taste the Bloody Mary one and you will know why!
DAY 8:
San Gimignano.
DAY 9:
This great but steep city will make you sweat and enjoy like a little kid. The cathedral is lovely and you can find some great restaurants too.
DAY 10:
Siena.
DAY 11:
Montalcino.
DAY 12:
Montepulciano.
DAY 13:
Explore more the Chianti region, taste some wine, got to some wine cellar, buy some bottles and relax. A good hotel where you can go is Bosco Della Spina. This great hotel has amazing installations and an incredible restaurant.
DAY 14:
Travelling back to Florence.
DAY 15:
Going back home. The Italian experience has arrived to its end!
