FIRENZE, ITALY

Hey, I'm back!

On today's post I want to talk about one of my favourite cities of Italy, Firenze or Florence, the capital city of Tuscany's region. Florence is famous for its history: a centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the wealthiest cities of the time, it is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance.

LANDMARKS

Il Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore

Duomo is the term for an Italian cathedral. This one is one of the most beautiful cathedrals by its imposing architecture. The cathedral inside is nearly empty and not even close to the beauty os Pisa's cathedral inside. Apart of this, I love it.

Ponte Vecchio

This ancient bridge was inhabited by butchers and now, jewelers, art dealers and souvenir sellers have taken the control of the place. Near from there you can eat INCREDIBLY well at Trattoria Ponte Vecchio.

Galleria degli Uffizi

The Uffizi Gallery is a prominent art museum adjacent to the Piazza della Signoria. If you like Renaissence art, this is your museum. Book your tickets a couple of months before arriving because there is usually lot of queue.

Palazzo Vecchio

Book some tickets for the exciting secret passages tour that the town hall offers. It is worth it.

Also check out Palazzo Pitti, Galleria della Academia and Piazzale Michelangelo to see the sunset.

Love, Pau.

  1. Hi Pau, congratulations for your job, I am very fan of this blog.
In the next post, could you talk about Mollet del Valles? I have understood that is a glamourous and chic city with a lot of important sites.
    Thanks,
